So I have been casted.. again

Man oh man, this is turning out to be a great month? or year? not sure.

Anyways, I had an audition earlier this month for a role in "Easier with Practice", directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez, and its starring Brian Geraghty (I know who Killed Me), Jeanette Brox (Heroes) and a couple others. It was with the CD that casted me in Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles and another CD who I have never met before, but she is located in LA. I thought I did really good at the audition, and I ended up getting a call back. Although I couldn't make the call back, again I know.... BUT! The directer liked me so much and wanted to cast me anyways. So I went in today to meet and what not, I read for the director and producer and got the role before I walked out the door! The director and first producer are just the sweetest! I can not wait to film! My agent is very very happy with me lately, and I can't be happier that SHE is happy!

So! As of today, I have been cast as Amanda (the diners waitress) in Easier with Practice!

Here is a little about the film:
In an effort to promote his unpublished novel, Davy Mitchell sets out on a road trip with his younger brother. However, the idealism of being on the road wears off and it quickly proves to be a lonely and unfulfilling experience for Davy. One night in a motel room he gets a random phone call from a mysterious woman named Nicole. They start a funny and intimate long distance relationship that leaves Davy happier than he has been in years. Hoping there is more to the relationship then a voice and a phone bill, Davy decides he wants to meet Nicole. Ultimately, he will have to face not only the truth about their relationship but also about himself.

Oh, I have also decided that I need to ditch that chocolate phone and get a blackberry. A part of me hates cell phones, but I can't seem to live a day with out it. I just wish that chocolate would reply to emails!!! I need to be able to do work on the road...

okay, enough of me ranting. It was a good day.

Day 2

My call time was at 11 am, but where they were shooting was a good hour away from where I live so for me the day started at 9:30 am. Once I arrived on set, they let me get a little bit comfortable before going to the aging room to try on my clothes and then head to make-up. They ended up not being able to get to my scene at the end of the day, so I will have to go back in a couple weeks to film again. :)

Welcome to my trailer....

I was amazed how BIG it was, I even had a shower. Which at the end of day 2 I really felt like using!
I then had to proceed to Special FX Make-up, Rich and Glen did my make-up (Lord of the Rings). After about 4 hours of make-up, the director (above, Scott) it wasn't what he was looking for (it did look a little too much, had Art take it all off and start over). Which the second time around everyone agreed that it looked much better. They also had me put in these all black contacts, which were cool, but sucked at trying to get around. The 2nd 2nd AD had to walk me around the set. They ended up giving me a headache at the end of the day.
Fully in wardrobe, ready to shoot come 8:00 PM, although they didn't have enough time to shoot my scene, so I will have to go back in a couple weeks to film again. I was in make-up from 11-7, which wouldn't be that long next time. But I will have my third day on set in the next couple weeks :) It was a pretty good second day on set, I met Jennifer Connolly, Charles Dutten, Annie Palicki and a little bit of Dennis Quaid.

Day 1

Today was my first day on set, it consisted of wardrobe, hair, quick tour of the set, quick meeting with the director on hair and little details, seeing Dennis Quaid and Lucas Black in action. Also running into Willa Holland and Percy Walker on set, and getting my script.

So now in detail...... Lets just say it was an awesome first day to feel acquainted. I got on to the studio lot around 5:30, and I had to be at wardrobe for 6:00. I was met by one of the A.D's and let to my first destination, everyone was very very nice.
I got into my fitting, which consisted of about 4 different outfits. They were much different than I had originally expected, but I was getting the angle of where it was going. Not sure on which ones Scott will decide on. I saw some wardrobe pictures of Dennis in his three different outfits, they were cute, put a smile on my face.

Next I was whisked away into make-up/hair, where I met Willa Holland (O.C.). They couldn't decide what to do with my lonnngg hair, one wanted it up and punky looking the other wanted it down and curly. They also didn't want it to resemble Willa's.

Lets just remember I am playing a 14 year old self inflicted drug addict.... So they couldn't decide, so we had to go all the way on set to get the directors point of view, which was what I thought my hair should look like..... So the director made an order for it to look like Willa's (Audrey) since I am playing the evil/opposite for her. While I was on set, I go to see a quick scene of Lucas Black and Dennis Quaid in action, and see the many stage sets inside of the studio for the movie. I also saw all their chairs.... hence the Dennis Quaid chair picture :)

While all this was going on, I got to get away for a bit and head into the production office and pick up my hard copy of the script.
Well, my call time tomorrow is at 11 am! yay!

lets read!

Here is a quick summary of Legion:

After a terrifying biblical apocalypse descends upon the world, a group of strangers stranded in a remote truck stop diner in the Southwest unwittingly become humanity's last line of defense when they discover the diner's young waitress is pregnant with the messiah.

Its my time now....

I have about thee biggest grin on my face, because I have the best news. I was just offered a role!

So I had an audition on March 8th that i didn't want to blog about, only because i didn't want to jinx myself. I am at that point in my mind that I won't blog about it till its over. Anyways, it was an audition for the role of a drug addict girl in the movie "Legion". Its directed by Scott Charles Stewart and starring in the movie is Dennis Quaid, Paul Bettany, Kate Walsh, Kevin Durand, Lucas Black, and tyrese Gibson. Well the first audition I was so prepared and I thought i did well. They had a call back a week later, that I was unable to go to because it was last minute (at 5 in Santa Fe and It was already 1, and i made prior commitments). Anyways, I called my agent back and asked if there was any way to try on another day, I had fallen in love with the role and I wanted it so badly, I was so disappointed. But the CD asked my agent if there was any day that was good for me to come in and gladly they called me in the next day. Well at the studio lot, the casting director met me at my car and said to me "The director really likes you, so do exactly what you did on the first audition, take any direction he has to give, and lets make this a done deal".

Thats when I started to sweat, literally. lets add some more pressure!

So me and the CD waited for the director to come and greet me in the studio waiting room. He was really nice, greeted me with a big smile and frim han shake. So I went in with them, Scott and CD, Scott sat across from me. We ran the scene about 6 to 7 times trying it each way and that. During it he said he loved how much i didn't blink. Cool! Well we shook hands and i left. I did feel relieved that I still was able to be seen and have the time to actually sit with the director and have this wonderful connection with director/actor.

Well I have been thinking about this role, running it through my head thinking how much I want this. Today was my day. I was just offered the role and I am on cloud 25. There are many reasons why I wanted this job so bad:

1. one thing I am going to have leasions and flesh falling off my body in the scene, its new and challenging.
2. My dialogue is pretty intense, so I have to step up my game..
3.the movie is the next step I needed after "the eye"
4. Its something I haven't done yet, play a dead druggie girl with scary make-up, and working with Dennis Quaid, Kate Walsh, Paul Bettany, Lucas Black, and Kevin Durand all in MY SCENE!
5. Its something I am already so proud of my self for achieving.

My first day of work begins on April 22nd in a set studio, I will receive my script soon to read, and sign all those wonderful contracts.

Oh, after this job I am no longer SAG eligible (which I have been holding on to, just in case for non-union projects). I am a must join on April 22nd.
